Domains

Each of the BEAM domains represents an area for students to thrive. All carry equal weight and complement each other to provide a comprehensive framework for student success.

Let’s dive deeper into Belonging, Engaging, Achieving, and Meaning.

belonging logo

Belonging

Feeling connected, accepted, and valued within a group or community.

Belonging is about your place at UCF, which spans all of Knight Nation to a study group or a work team. It’s the places and people where you are comfortable and thriving as an individual.

I’m more than just my academics. Becoming a peer mentor gives me the chance to pass forward the knowledge I’ve gained.

engaging logo

Engaging

Actively participating and involved in learning and activities of interest.

UCF is a fantastic place to plug into student life. There are academic opportunities like undergraduate research and faculty office hours, mixed in with career-building internships and just plain fun student clubs and organizations.

Joining clubs connected me with likeminded friends and gave me something to look forward to.

achieving logo

Achieving

Planning and striving to accomplish goals.

Achieving is about the future fulfillment of your aspirations, and the journey it takes to get you there. We want students to think big and small about how they’ll grow and develop as Knights.

Testing what’s possible produces confidence and problem-solving skills, even when you fail.

meaning logo

Meaning

Identifying values and interests that lead to a sense of purpose, significance, and fulfillment.

Call it your “why.” Meaning is about discovering and developing the work, hobbies and causes that bring you joy and passion.

Knowing that you’re able to help, even if it’s on the smallest scale, means the world.
