More than half (51%) of college students involved in clubs, organizations and teams experience hazing on college campuses.  Hazing is defined as any activity expected of someone joining or participating in a group that humiliates, degrades, abuses or endangers them regardless of a person’s willingness to participate.

National Hazing Prevention Week takes place September 24- 28, 2018.  The University of Central Florida will take part in this nationwide effort to raise awareness about hazing through various activities events and programs.

Some of the programs during the week include: Green Dot Bystander Intervention sessions, a Hazing 101 workshop, Anti-Hazing Pledge signing and an Open Mic-Knight.  The key program of the week is the REP Your Colors: March Against Hazing.  Students, faculty, staff and the campus community are invited to walk in a silent march against hazing on

Wednesday Sept 26, 2018 at 12:00pm from CFE Arena, down Memory Mall to the Reflection Pond. Participants are encouraged to represent organizations, teams or clubs by wearing logos, colors or letters.

“It is everyone’s responsibility to take a stand, challenge and fight against hazing on our campus. Together we can make a difference.”
