Email beamstaffcollective@ucf.edu About the Keynote Speaker Dr. Nina Leonard serves as Director of Academic Success Coaching for UCF’s Barry S. Miller College of Business and The Rosen College of Hospitality Management, providing leadership and supervision for a team of Academic Success Coaches under the Division of Student Success and Well-being. Dr. Leonard has over a decade of experience in higher education, including admissions, academic advising, orientation programming, at-risk student initiatives, scholarship funding selections and appeals, training/development, teaching, coaching, and mentoring. Dr. Leonard graduated from UCF’s 2019-2020 Leadership Empowerment Program and was selected as the 2020 UCF Pegasus Advisor Award recipient, earning her national recognition by NACADA, The Global Community for Academic Advising. Dr. Leonard led her team in achieving numerous awards, presenting at conferences, and piloting new programming. A UCF alumna, she earned her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from UCF in 2025, with research focused on the relationship between academic advising and the success of first-generation students. Dr. Leonard serves as the president of the UCF Black Faculty & Staff Association, which is open to all faculty and staff. She is a mom of two, and her husband is also an alum and employee of UCF. Resiliency amongst challenging times of change, both personally and professionally, has guided her toward faith, grace, and reconciliation.
